Pelling  – 2 Nights

Pelling is a small hill hamlet in West Sikkim. Pelling is settled at an altitude of 2,150 m (7,200 feet). The hamlet is located at a distance of 10 km from Geyzing and 36km from Gangtok.

With the arrival of tourists, the region is undergoing a transformation, with the infrastructures being mended and hotels being established.

The Himalayas and the Kanchenjanga may be watched at close quarters from Pelling. Pelling also forms the base from where explorers and other traveling peoples commence the energetic and difficult treks in West Sikkim. The land around Pelling is still a virgin terrain and is bathed with mountainous flora, with many cascades lining the hillside. In the months of winter, Pelling is covered with a blanket of snow.

Pelling is 115 km from the state capital Gangtok and about 135 km from Siliguri, the nearest railhead and airport. Regular jeeps connect Pelling to the towns of Jorethang, Kalimpong and Namchi. The nearest airport is Bagdogra airport.

Most of the people of Pelling are Buddhists and speak the Sikkimese language. Other languages spoken are Nepali, Hindi, and English.

Gangtok – 2 Nights

The colourful city of Gangtok spreads over a woody mountain that is ornamented with the Mount Kanchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the globe. Kanchenjunga and other Himalayan snow peaks can be viewed from various magnificent view points in and around Gangtok.
In fact, every spur extending from this hill town offers a setting of a great sight. The heart-throb of the town is Mahatma Gandhi Road popularly known as M.G. Marg, that is a wide stretch of an open walkway with proper beautiful sitting arrangements.

Day 1

New Jalpaiguri Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) – Darjeeling

Meet and Greet on arrival and transfer to Darjeeling via Kurseong. In Kurseong, guests can stopover for a while for a cup of tea at Kurseong Tourist Lodge. From here we drive further to Darjeeling. After arrival in Darjeeling, the guest is welcomed by the host, following which the rest of the day can be spent at leisure. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.

Day 2

In Darjeeling - Local Sightseeing (4:00AM to 4:00PM)

Early Morning at 04:00 AM we visit Tiger Hill, famous for sunrise over Mt. Kanchendzonga. On our way back, we visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. From here we return to the homestay for breakfast. After breakfast, we visit The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursday), PNZ Zoological Park (closed on Thursday) Tenzing Rock, Tibetans Refuge Centre (closed on Sunday), Tea Garden (outer view), Ropeway, Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda. After the tour, we return to the homestay.

Day 3

Darjeeling to Pelling

After breakfast, we say our goodbye to the host in Darjeeling and transfer to Pelling. Enroute, guests can have lunch, after arrival at Pelling we are welcomed by the host in the homestay, following which the guest may choose to go for a walk or spend the day at leisure. Overnight in Pelling.

Day 4

Pelling Sightseeing

This day is reserved for a leisurely tour of Pelling town and its surroundings. We visit the famous Pemayangtse Monastery and Rabdentse Ruins. We also visit Khecheopalri Lake, Kanchenjunga Fall and Rimbi Waterfall. After the tour, we return to the hotel/homestay. Overnight in Pelling.

Day 5

Pelling to Gangtok Via Namchi

After breakfast, we check out of hotel/Homestay in Pelling and transfer to Gangtok via Namchi. In Namchi we visit Char Dham and Samdruptse. After the tour, we drive further to Gangtok. After arrival in Gangtok, we are welcomed by the host in the homestay following which the rest of the day can be spent at leisure. Overnight in Pelling.

Day 6

Excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir (7:30AM to 4:00PM)

Today we go on an excursion drive to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir. Tsomgo Lake also known as Changu Lake, is a glacial lake in the East Sikkim district, some 40 kilometers (25 mi) from the capital Gangtok. The lake is surrounded by steep mountains which are covered with snow during winter. During summer the snow cover melts and forms the source for the lake. From here we drive further to Baba Mandir. Baba Mandir is a shrine built in honor of Major “Baba” Harbhajan Singh who died in 1968. Many believe that his spirit protects every soldier in the inhospitable high-altitude terrain of the Eastern Himalayas. After the tour, we return to our homestay in Gangtok (Vehicle Service Ends). Overnight in Gangtok.

Day 7

Drop to New Jalpaiguri Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport

After Breakfast, the guests are free to walk across the open areas and reflect upon the tour, after which the guest is free to do packing and say goodbye to the host and would be dropped to IXB/NJP
