Pelling is a small hill hamlet in West Sikkim. Pelling is settled at an altitude of 2,150 m (7,200 feet). The hamlet is located at a distance of 10 km from Geyzing and 36km from Gangtok.

With the arrival of tourists, the region is undergoing a transformation, with the infrastructures being mended and hotels being established.

The Himalayas and the Kanchenjunga may be watched at close quarters from Pelling. Pelling also forms the base from where explorers and other traveling peoples commence the energetic and difficult treks in West Sikkim. The land around Pelling is still a virgin terrain and is bathed with mountainous flora, with many cascades lining the hillside. In the months of winter, Pelling is covered with a blanket of snow.

Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim, is a lovely hill town placed at an elevation of 5,410 ft in the Eastern region of the state. Gangtok became the capital city when Sikkim merged with India in 1975. Gangtok has emerged as a thriving capital town and has experienced incredible advancement of lifestyle. A city is a peaceful place with a mix of different cultures, languages, and ethnicity.  Nepalese, Lepchas and Bhutias are the main communities of Sikkim.

The colorful city of Gangtok spreads over a woody mountain that is ornamented with the Mount Kanchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the globe. Kanchenjunga and other Himalayan snow peaks can be viewed from various magnificent viewpoints in and around Gangtok. In fact, every spur extending from this hill town offers a setting of a great sight.
