Gangtok – 4 Nights

Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim, is a lovely hill town placed at an elevation of 5,410 ft in Eastern region of the state. Gangtok became the capital city when Sikkim merged with the India in 1975. Gangtok has emerged as a thriving capital town and has experienced incredible advancement of lifestyle. The city is a peaceful place with a mix of different cultures, languages and ethnicity.  Nepalese, Lepchas and Bhutias are the main communities of Sikkim.

The colourful city of Gangtok spreads over a woody mountain that is ornamented with the Mount Kanchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the globe. Kanchenjunga and other Himalayan snow peaks can be viewed from various magnificent view points in and around Gangtok. In fact every spur extending from this hill town offers a setting of a great sight.

Lachen –  1 Night
One of the most picturesque and peaceful villages of the Sikkim, the Lachen is situated at an altitude of around 8500 ft and approx 107 km from the Gangtok. The mesmerizing scenic landscape of the Lachen attracts every kind of tourists, whether they are adventure seekers, honeymoon tourists or nature-loving explorers. Lachen is a prominent pilgrim destination for the people of the Buddhist faith due to the ancient Lachen monastery. This not so populated tourist destination is known for its breathtaking natural beauty with the lush greenery, pristine white snow covered mountain tops, valleys, lakes, apple orchards, a large stretch of alpine cover and the beautiful quaint houses.

Lachung –  1 Night
The splendid natural beauty of the village and the spectacular waterfalls that graced the region is the prime attraction for the nature-loving tourists. There are various garrulous waterfalls gushing around the Lachung village offering the mesmerizing view of Nature along with the glimpses of the white snow-clad pristine mountain ranges which surround the village make the magnetic view. The orchards of apple, apricots, and peaches around the village are the pleasurable sight for the visitors.

Covering Yumthang Valley

Yumthang valley is the marvel of nature decorated in the Northern region of the Sikkim state. With the dense rhododendron forests and the hot sulfur water spring, the Yumthang valley offers the picturesque view of the hilly terrain. The valley is also known as the valley of flowers due to the large stretch of land filled with the various species of the Rhododendrons.  On the way to the Yumthang valley, the view of the pristine waterfalls and streams, as well as the magnetic view of the mountain peaks are very soothing to the eyes.

Covering Gurudongmar Lake:

Situated at an altitude of around 17100 ft. and at the distance of 190 km from Gangtok, the Gurudongmar Lake is one of the highest altitude lakes in the world. It is the second highest lake in the Sikkim after the Cholamu lake. The nearest village to this lake is Thangu which is also an exquisite tourist destination located at an altitude of 14000 ft. The Gurudongmar Lake has significant religious value among the people of the Buddhist faith.  Visiting the lake is allowed for the Indian tourists, but foreign tourists can also visit after obtaining the special permit from the Ministry of Home Affairs in New Delhi.

Day 1

New Jalpaiguri Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) – Gangtok

Meet and Greet on arrival and transfer to Gangtok – The Capital of Sikkim. After arrival in Gangtok, you are welcomed by the host in Homestay, following which the rest of the day can be spent at leisure. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.

Day 2

In Gangtok - Local Sightseeing 9AM - 4PM

After breakfast we start a leisurely tour of Gangtok town covering Tashi View Point, Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok, Ban Jhakri Falls, Institute of Tibetology (closed on Sunday and Govt. holidays), Do Drul Chorten, Handicraft Emporium, (closed on Sunday and Govt. holidays) and Flower Show. After the tour, we return to the homestay following which the rest of the day can be spent at leisure. Overnight in Gangtok.

Day 3

Transfer Gangtok to Lachen (129KM - 6 Hours)

After breakfast, we transfer from Gangtok to Lachen. Enroute guest the guest can enjoy the beauty of the valley and can stopover at Naga Falls. Lunch can be had at Mangan. After arrival in Lachen, we are welcomed in the homestay following which the rest of the day can be spent at leisure or resting.

Day 4

Excursion to Gurudongmar Lake- Transfer to Lachung

We leave for Gurudongmar Lake early in the morning at 3:30 AM. Breakfast can be had at a local cafe in Thangu. After breakfast, we drive further to the Lake. After the tour, we return to homestay in Lachen for lunch. Post lunch we transfer to Lachung. Overnight in Lachung

Day 5

Excursion to Yungthang Valley - Transfer to Gangtok

After an early breakfast, we depart early to visit Yumthang Valley. Yumthang Valley, popularly known as the ‘Valley of Flowers’ is a nature sanctuary with a river, hot springs, yaks and grazing pasture on rolling meadows surrounded by the Himalayan mountains. After the tour, we move forward to our homestay in Gangtok. Overnight in Gangtok

Day 6

Excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir (7:30AM to 4:00PM)

Today we go for an excursion drive to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir. Tsomgo Lake also known as Changu Lake, is a glacial lake in the East Sikkim district, some 40 kilometers (25 mi) from the capital Gangtok. The lake is surrounded by steep mountains which are covered with snow during winter. During summer the snow cover melts and forms the source for the lake. From here we drive further to Baba Mandir. Baba Mandir is a shrine built in honor of Major “Baba” Harbhajan Singh who died in 1968. Many believe that his spirit protects every soldier in the inhospitable high-altitude terrain of the Eastern Himalayas. After the tour, we return to our homestay in Gangtok (Vehicle Service Ends). Overnight in Gangtok.

Day 7

Drop to New Jalpaiguri Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport

After Breakfast, the guests are free to walk across the open areas and reflect upon the tour, after which the guest is free to do packing and say goodbye to the host and would be dropped to IXB/NJP
